Boating on Lake Keowee

Lila Mae started and ran great...for a while.

We anchored and swam to a nice beach on a little island on our second day.

Swimming on day one.  Shortly after this picture I realized the boat wouldn't start.  So I dropped anchor.  After an hour of cleaning out the fuel line with a flat-head screwdriver, it started!  It ran great the next two days until...the ignition switch appeared to brake and we couldn't fix it.  Fortunately, we were anchored about 1/4 mile from a boat ramp so I was able to use the emergency paddle.  Poor boat.  We dropped it off at Dekalb Marine on the way home and the dude said, "Oh god, when was the last time this thing ran".

Dad had to drive the boat from the ramp to the rental house while Mom drove the car to the rental house.

Kayaks at rental house.

Josie had an hour-long tantrum because she decided she wanted her other life jacket.

Feeling better after the tantrum.

Watching the sun set from a beach within paddling distance from the rental house.
